Step-by-Step Installation

1.Open Server Manager

i) Click the Start menu.

ii) Select Server Manager to launch the dashboard.

2. Launch Add Roles and Features Wizard

i) Inside Server Manager, click Manage at the top right.

ii) Choose Add Roles and Features from the dropdown menu, or select it in quick start.

iii) The wizard begins. Click Next at the "Before You Begin" screen.

3. Select Installation Type

i) Choose the Role-based or feature-based Installation option.

ii) Click Next to proceed.

4. Select Destination Server

i) If you have multiple servers, select the appropriate server from the pool; if not, the local server is auto-selected.

ii) Click Next.

5. Select Server Roles

i) In the "Select server roles" window, tick Web Server (IIS).

ii) When prompted, click Add Features to include required components.

iii) Click Next.

6. Select Features (Optional)

i) Add any features, such as .NET Framework, if your apps require them. Commonly chosen: .NET Framework 3.5/4.x, Web Management Tools.

ii) Click Next.

7. Web Server Role (IIS)

i) Review the Web Server Role (IIS) options. Click Next unless you need to customize.

ii) On the "Role Services" page, review services like Static Content, ASP.NET, HTTP Logging. Select additional services as needed, then click Next.

8. Confirm Selections

i) Review your choices on the "Confirmation" page.

9. Complete Installation

ii) Once finished, click Close.

10. Verify IIS Installation

i) Open a browser on the server and navigate to http://localhost.
